If you need a lot of different sizes of corks and are not sure what sizes you may need, this is for you. A lot of these are big corks that are 4 or 5 dollars when sold separately. You will have one of every size available to try. It is one of each size that we stock, a total of 35 different sizes. We also sell a smaller mixed selection of the smaller sizes. Corks look very attractive when used in test tubes for displaying spices, craft items and little what-nots. They can also be used to replace lost or damaged corks in Salt & Pepper shakers. Plus they are easier to remove and replace than rubber stoppers. If you need corks with one or two holes, it is easy to make them yourself with a cork borer. The following is a list of the nice variety of sizes and the number of each that are included in the package…

All of our corks are imported from the forests of Portugal. Unlike petroleum, gas, coal and other diminishing natural resources, cork is the outer bark that grows on replenish-able, renewable, inexhaustible evergreen oaks known by the Latin name Quercus (oak) Suber (cork). Almost 80% of the world’s cork comes from the Iberian Peninsula – Portugal (51%) and Spain (28%) where soil, temperature, rainfall, and wind conditions are ideal. Like cows that continually renew their supply of milk or moose that regrow their antlers – the cork tree regenerates its precious outer layer 12 or 13 times during its 150 year lifetime. The outer bark is harvested every 8 to 10 years after the initial first stripping at 15 to 20 years
