With close to 10 trillion cells spanning over 200 different categories, the adult human body harbors an incredibly diverse and dynamic range of structures at the cellular level. These cells combine to make up the over 200 bones of our skeletal structure, and the thousands upon thousands of fibers that come together to form all the 600 muscles that we depend on for movement, communication and facial expression, to name but a few.

Each cell has its own different structure and method of organization. Some are square or rectangular, others are round or ovoid in shape. They all serve different purposes or functions, and their shape is partially dependent on where within the body it is located.
