This large, clear plastic test tube is virtually indestructible! Perfect for younger students, it won’t break if dropped, can’t shatter and holds up to even the roughest handling. The larger than usual size is convenient for activities requiring larger amounts of materials to be used. The red plastic, threaded cap screws on to prevent spills. The tube measures approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm) long with cap. The outside diameter (OD) is approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm) and inside diameter (ID) is approximately 7/8 inch (2.2 cm). Test tube holds 30mL in liquid. Tube may have gray tint. Pack of 5.
All soda bottles start as a small plastic bottle called a preform. This bottle is heated and blown into a larger bottle and is filled with a beverage. These tubes are air and water tight when covered tightly with the cap, and they are good for collecting or storing liquid samples. Our small plastic preforms come with full-sized final threaded openings so they use standard plastic soda bottle tops (included). These tubes have an integrated safety ring so that you can seal the tube and know if it has been opened.
