It is a compact, low voltage device that allows for the demonstrating of three types of DC motor, as well as both DC and AC generators.

The three DC motors capable of being shown are the permanent magnet motor, a series-wound motor, and a shunt-wound motor. Using AC, it is capable of showing a permanent magnet generator.
