Also known as Rhodamine B Aqueous Solution, it is often used as a tracer dye within water to help determine the rate and direction of flow. It also finds extensive use in biotechnological applications such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and as a biological stain. Under normal lighting conditions, it will appear as a deep red solution, while under a UV light it will fluoresce a bright, vivid red that sometimes has a slight orange tint. It has a concentration of 0.04%.
