12″ Dual-Scale Student Anemometer
by American Scientific
The student anemometer is capable of being hand-held, or permanently mounted to a structure or post. Its four cups capture direct wind, causing the anemometer top to spin. As the cups on the top spin, the gauge on the shaft will slide upwards along the scale, allowing for wind speed readings to be taken without students having to try and count the number of revolutions that the cups make.
The dual-scale features both m/s and the Beaufort scales, and is included on two sides of the shaft. One is listed as “High”, which is for taking wind speed readings at heights above 10 meters, while the other is for readings taken below 10 meters.
The shaft itself measures approximately 10.75″, while the anemometer itself has an overall height of approximately 12″ when measured to the top of the cups. The handle features two screw holes, allowing the anemometer to be fixed to a stationary object. A teacher’s guide is included.
