A crucible is a cup-shaped piece of laboratory equipment, used to contain chemical compounds when heating them to very high temperatures. Their lids are typically loose-fitting, allowing any gases to escape.

These crucibles are made of stainless steel, and include a lid. Typically, they are used in assays involving NaOH or Na₂O₂, which will attack and severely damage typical porcelain crucibles. They have a good resistance to concentrated alkali compounds, and can be used at temperatures of -180°C to 800°C.
