The American Flag Eclipse Glasses are absolutely safe for direct solar viewing of solar eclipses. The lenses are made with 2 mil scratch resistant polymer (black/silver) lenses that filter out 100% of harmful ultra-violet and infrared rays and 99.999% of intense visible light. These shades are “CE” certified which meets the transmission requirements of scale EN 1936:2005 + A1:2007 (E). These premium filters create a sharper orange colored image of the sun. With an optical density of 5 or greater, these ISO 12312-2 compliant and CE certified eclipse glasses were independently tested and safe for all phases of the eclipse. The backside is printed with safety information (English translation only). The frame is heavy card stock.
