  Students will learn how to genetically engineer bacteria through transformation with a plasmid that confers antibiotic resistance. Once complete, the number of resistant bacteria will be examined to determine the efficiency of the transformation procedure.

   This kit includes a teachers manual and student study guide copymasters, and has enough materials for 8 lab groups. It meets AP Science Practices 1,3,5,6, and 7, as well as Big Idea 3.
