De-ionized water, simply put, is water that has had almost all of its mineral ions removed. Cations such as sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, while anions like chloride and sulfate, are removed from the water via one of any number of deionization methods, which can be a chemical or an electrical process. Regardless of the method, the majority of the impurities in the water are dissolved salts, and removing them through deionization produces water with a high purity. Our de-ionized water is guaranteed to have a minimum specificity of 12 megohm-cm resitivity, which places it higher than the NCCLS standard of 10 megohm-cm.
