In this age of concern over infectious diseases, security, and liability, Glo Germ (simulated germs) is an effective tool used to demonstrate hand washing, surface cleaning, hygiene, and containment techniques.
This kit contains a battery operated 21 LED ultra-violet light, an 8 ounce bottle of Glo Germ Gel, a 4 ounce bottle of Glo Germ Powder, and a plastic case for storage.
This version of the kit contains gel instead of oil. Oil can stain but is recommended for more extensive hand washing training. We have this same kit with oil.
The kit comes with white powder, but orange powder is also available separately for use in demonstrations where the difference between two contamination sources is required.
The 21 LED flashlight provides a focused beam of UV light that will fluoresce Glo Germ in broad daylight! Featuring a push button that toggles the light on and off, this lamp is approximately 3.5 inches long and requires 3 AAA batteries (included).Â
More Information
Glo Germ products demonstrate germ communication, cross-contamination, and effectiveness of sanitary practices. Glo-Germ products are used for forensic and health education for all ages. For hand washing training, Glo Germ Liquid or Oil is rubbed onto one’s hands like lotion. For surface cleaning, dust Glo Germ Powder onto surfaces and generally throughout the entire area. Then wash your hands or clean the area as you normally would. Glo Germ Oil should be used in the medical field where greater accuracy is required. The oil may stain cloth, so the gel is recommended where staining may be of concern. Although one’s hands and surfaces appear clean, the ultra-violet light tells a different story. The discovery of the remaining germs will cast a new light on your cleaning effectiveness.
