The hand-held DC generator consists of a miniature DC generator mounted in a transparent housing and driven by a hand crank through a gear train to increase the rotation speed. A low voltage incandescent lamp and an accessory socket are attached to the output of the generator. The hand-held DC generator is an ideal way to demonstrate the transformation of mechanical energy into electric energy. The unit produces a terminal voltage of 6.3V and a maximum current of 700mA. A pair of 14″ long leads with a two pin plug and spade lug terminals are provided so that students can perform other experiments in electricity and magnetism.
