Heebie Jeebies MarsScope Dobsonian Telescope
10 in stock
The Heebie Jeebies MarsScope Dobsonian Telescope allows you to see the night sky in amazing detail. At the right time of night Mars can be seen clearly in the scopes about the size of a 5-cent piece. There is an electronic red dot finderscope to help with locating small objects in the sky. The telescope is mounted on a base which allows movement in altitude (up and down) and azimuth (left and right).
Simply put in your chosen magnification of eye-piece, take the cap off the tube and you are ready to start your stargazing! Use the included map of the moon to explore and identify all of the mountains and craters and learn about the different phases of our closest astronomical object. Next, find Mars and explore its polar caps and major dark surface features.Â
In 1609 Italian physicist Galileo was the first person to point a telescope towards the sky and was able to make out the mountains and craters on our moon. Isaac Newton was the first person to build a practical reflector in 1668. This design was put into an alt-azimuth mount and made popular by amateur astronomer John Dobson in the 1960’s – hence the term Dobsonian.
WARNING! Never look directly into or close to the sun with this device.
