LED Light Array w/11 Colors
by American Scientific
The LED Light Array is a clever and eye-catching way to demonstration color diffraction and the effects of colors on wavelengths. It is a great step up over the more traditional method of using color filters and a “white” bulb, as students will be able to easily observe the color diffraction from their seats in addition to being able to compare the different diffraction patterns that the various colors present.
The LED Array features a series of 11 vertically mounted lights ranging from deep red at the top all the way down to violet. The array also includes a white light, located above the deep red bulb. Each color and its corresponding wavelength are marked on the exterior of the 12″ metal tube. At the top, a rotary switch allows for each color to be displayed individually, or all at once. The entire unit is powered by plugging it into a standard 110-volt outlet, and features an on/off switch located at the base of the tube.
