This synthetic mounting media has been prepared by dissolving Canada balsam in Xylene, to produce a Piccolyte Mounting Media. Xylene is also known as xylol or dimethylbenzene, and Canada balsam can be sometimes referred to as Canada turpentine or balsam fir.

This chemical is for laboratory use only, and is not intended for food, drug, or cosmetic Use. It should be kept out of the reach of children.
