   The optical property of this stone is referred to as chatoyancy, which gives Cat’s Eye its name. When light passes through the stone, it spreads throughout parallel fibrous or needle-like inclusions.The light then reflects back to the viewer as a thin line and gives the illusion of a cat’s eye.
