Siltstone Rock – Pack of 2

A sedimentary rock, Siltstone is composed of silt-sized particles. Those particles are defined as having grains which measure between 2-62µm. Siltstone has a finer grain than sandstone, but is coarser than claystone. It is often mistaken for shale, though it is missing both fissility (the ability to split along planes into thin sheets), and laminations.

Each rock or mineral specimen measures approximately 1-2 inches in length along its longest side.
