GREAT VALUE!! The Walter Products 3000F-LED Monocular Compound Microscope has 3 magnification ranges (40, 100, and 400 power), and is great for students grades 6-9 who can benefit in a biology setting using quality optics, coaxial focusing and a large stage. This is the same model we recommend to High Schools and Junior Colleges. It is sturdy, inexpensive and includes everything needed through high school for inspection and dissection of two-dimensional specimens. Perfect for most home school curriculum as well.
The monocular viewing head has a fixed 45º inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and full 360º rotation capability. A calibrated eyepiece pointer is used to identify features for students. Forward-facing nosepiece eases changing objectives. Three DIN 45mm achromatic objectives (4x, 10x and 40x, which bring this microscope to 400x) provide color correction of magnified images. Parcentered and parfocal objectives ensure the image stays centered and focused when the magnification is changed. The 40xR objective is retractable and spring-loaded to prevent damage to the slide or objective when focusing.
This model has a plain stage with spring clips, 0.65 N.A. condenser and 5-hole disc diaphragm, coaxial coarse and fine focusing, positive stops at both ends of stage travel to prevent damage to specimens and optics, and LED corded illumination. Brightfield (BF) illumination transmits light up through the specimen for enhanced visibility of translucent and transparent objects and allows the specimen to absorb light, resulting in a dark image on a light background.
Vinyl dustcover and instruction manual included. Includes a limited FIVE YEAR Manufacturer’s Warranty from the date of purchase.
