500mm Graham Condenser, 24/40 Ground Glass

  Made from high quality borosilicate glass, a Graham coil condenser is primarily used for distillations that require high surface area for more efficient cooling. The outer jacket is joined, leak-free to the coiled tube inside, at both the top and bottom of the condenser. The top inlet is slightly sloped to avoid trapping condensates.

   Both the top and bottom of the condenser are 24/40 ground glass, allowing for use with ground glass connectors on other glassware, when connecting the condenser to the rest of a distillation setup.

   Two small inlets on opposite sides of the outer jacket allow water or another liquid to circulate around the coil to assist in the formation of condensation. They can be attached to a water source using 5/16″ flexible tubing.

   This particular style of condenser is shipped with salt between the outer jacket and the coil to help prevent it from breaking during transport. The salt can be extracted by remove the tape that seals the inlets.

   A #4 stopper will fit the opening of this condenser, and its jacket length is 500mm (50cm)
