With an overall length of 9.25 inches and a diameter of 0.23″, this stirring rod has been crafted from the thermoplastic polymer known as polypropylene. Both ends of the stir rod have been molded, one into the shape of a 0.5″ wide spatula, while the other tapers down to 0.32″ policeman, which eliminates the need that to struggle with inserting it into a rubber policeman.

The benefit of using a polypropylene stir rod that has been shaped into both a spatula and a policeman, is that you essentially have all three tools at your fingertips, without having to track down what you are looking for. Additionally, unlike its glass and rubber counterparts, polypropylene is extremely rugged, and features an unusually high resistance to chemical solvents (including most organic solvents), bases, and acids. It is also fully autoclavable, though you will want to research what settings are appropriate for polypropylene.
