  Aquamarine (from Latin: aqua marina, “water of the sea”) is a blue or cyan variety of beryl.  It is a silicate mineral known as beryl because one of its constituent elements is beryllium. Other elements that make up Aquamarine are silica, oxygen and aluminum.  Beryl Crystals are hexagonal and usually long & prismatic.

Among some gemologists, Aquamarine is said to arouse feelings of sympathy, trust, harmony and friendship.
