 The name of this order / clade came from the word carnivore, which means “meat-eating.” Although this is generally true, the notable exception if the Giant Panda, which is a herbivore. The Carnivora include the felines (cats), canine (dogs), Bears and other furry critters. Traditionally, the walrus and seals were placed in their own order. Based on DNA evidence, they are now classified with the Carnivora.
