A clear liquid with a fragrant and penetrating scent, tert-Butyl alchol is also referred to as TBA, tert-Butanol, or 2M2P. It is the simplest of all tertiary alcohols and is one of the four isomers of butanol, unique for its tendency to form a solid at room temperature, and has a melting point that is just above 25°C.
