Ceramic magnets are ferrite magnets, which are made of a ceramic compound with iron(III) oxide as its primary component. These magnets are used commonly in refrigerator magnets and other home crafts. This set is designed for younger students in a school science classroom setting. Ceramic magnets are less powerful than Neodymium magnets, so they provide a safer alternative for study and demonstrations. Each horseshoe magnet size is approximately 1.65H x 1.5W x 0.24D inches (42mm H x 38mm W x 6mm D).
